Join Our 2013 Farmers Market Board

Greetings to you all for the holiday season.  I hope you have enjoyed your Fall and are looking forward to a restful winter.  As the new season approaches, it is time to focus on where we are going with the Yelm Farmers Market for 2013.  I will not be managing the market this year on a full time basis, but I look forward to participating on the board of directors and working with an amazing team of leaders who have the talent and heart to move us forward into the coming years.

We are now open for applications for our board of directors.  We need a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 9 members on the board.  I have had numerous people interested in participating, so I would like for each of you who want to join us to send in a brief bio and tell us how you feel you can contribute to the growth of the market this coming season.  The application process will close Sunday, December 23 at 6:00 p.m.  I will review the applications and contact those who are chosen by Friday, December 28.  Our first meeting will be Thursday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m.at Tacos Gaby across from the Yelm Coop.  We will vote on a permanent meeting time once a month thereafter at this meeting.  On the first meeting, we will elect board officers and begin the discussion of where and when the market will be open for 2013 as well as discuss how we intend to provide operational funds for the market and how we should select a market manager.  This will be a two – 2 1/2 hour meeting.  Future meetings will, hopefully, be shorter.

If you are interested in the market manager position, please send in a focused resume and salary requirements to yelmfarmersmarket@gmail.com.
